Originally released back in 1964, the Byron Lee and The Dragonaires – Dance the Ska vinyl reissue is back 60 years on.

That’s quite a length of time and although copies come up for sale for reasonable money, there aren’t a lot being offered on Discogs right now. Just two copies in less-than-perfect condition and for much more money than this reissue, which is courtesy of Kids of Yesterday.

First spotted globally back in 1961 when the band featured in the first James Bond film (Dr. No) as the hotel band, this is a collection from 1964 which offers both the music and the moves. The back cover illustrations offer tips on how to do the ‘classic ska dance’ in ’12 easy steps’.

But you are buying it for the music, and amongst the 12 tracks on offer, there are some absolute classics. Those are listed below.

The album is black vinyl, available to pre-order now ahead of the 5th July release date via Rough Trade and selling for £19.99.
