Northern Soul is currently big news - it's being sampled and name-dropped like crazy - and with a film about the Wigan Casino in production, that interest is only going to increase. If you're pondering buying a compilation or two, the Complete Introduction to Northern Soul is certainly worth checking out first. It's a four-disc box of almost 100 tracks, mixing classic Motown and Northern anthems with lesser-known floorshakers and hidden gems newly-lifted from the Motown archives.
